University of Toledo's Andola Dortch takes the ball to the hoop past Eastern Michigan's Paige Redditt during women's semifinal action in the MAC tournament at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland Friday.
CLEVELAND --- The University of Toledo women's basketball team blew a 10-point lead with 7:45 to go and fell to Eastern Michigan, 59-57, in the Mid-American Conference semifinals on Friday at Quicken Loans Arena.
EMU, which beat UT three times this season, will play Central Michigan in the championship game at 1 p.m. Saturday.
UT had a chance to tie the game or go ahead with about 10 seconds to go but Courtney Ingersoll missed a tough runner in the lane and Haylie Linn misfired on a 3-point attempt.
The Rockets, who are hoping to receive an invitation to the WNIT, turned the ball over 27 times. Yolanda Richardson led the Rockets with 15 points and 10 boards.
EMU's Tavelyn James brought her team to within one at the 1:56 mark with a 3-pointer and a steal that she converted into two free throws.
UT's final points came on a Richardson lay up at 3:20.
