Wisconsin post player joins University of Toledo women's basketball team

BLADE STAFF

The University of Toledo women’s basketball team finalized its 2013 recruiting class with the addition of Wisconsin post player Olivia Braun.

Braun (6-foot-1) averaged 11 points, 8.9 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 3.9 blocked shots, and 1.3 steals in her junior season at St. Catherine’s in Racine, Wis. A point guard for her high school team, Braun is expected to play in the post for the Rockets.

Braun (pronounced Brown) chose UT over New Hampshire and Western Illinois. She joins a class featuring 6-3 post Sophie Reecher of Byron, Ill. and 5-11 wing Lindsay Baker of Warsaw, Ind. All are expected to sign a letter of intent with UT in November.

In other news, two former UT players accepted coaching positions. Haylie Linn (2011-12) will be a graduate assistant at Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and Jessica Williams (2008-11) will be an assistant at Ursuline College in northeast Ohio.
