Jason Kemp, who spent the past six seasons as an assistant basketball coach at North Dakota State, has accepted the same position at the University of Toledo. A formal announcement is expected to come next week.

Kemp will join Jordan Mincy in 2013-14 as first-year coaches on Tod Kowalczyk's staff. Both new assistants coached teams last year that made the championship game of their conference tournament. North Dakota State posted a 24-10 record, including a 12-4 mark in the Summit League.

Kemp, 32, is a native of Madison, Wisc. and was a four-year letterwinner at Wisconsin La-Crosse. He broke into coaching in 2004-05 at Minnesota State Moorhead. He spent the next two seasons as a graduate manager at NDSU before getting promoted to assistant coach.

Kemp's hiring comes about two weeks after Mincy accepted a job. Mincy, a former Kent State point guard, coached last season at College of Charleston.
