As the University of Toledo football team prepares for a matchup at Nevada on Saturday, here are three Wolf Pack players to keep an eye on:
1) Quarterback Ty Gangi – Gangi earned the starting nod at QB over Alabama transfer David Cornwell. In the season opener at Northwestern, Gangi was 16-of-37 passing for 199 yards and two touchdowns. He found Wyatt Demps on an 11-yard TD pass and McLane Mannix on a 41-yard TD strike.
2) Offensive lineman Austin Corbett – Corbett was tabbed to the preseason All-Mountain West first team. He started all 12 games last season as a junior and has started 36 straight games for the Wolf Pack. He was second-team all-conference last season.
3) Defensive end Malik Reed – Reed was a preseason All-Mountain West first team selection after earning second-team conference honors last season as a sophomore. Reed recorded five sacks and 9.5 tackles for loss that season, and he notched eight tackles in the opener against Northwestern.
