Walleye keep record perfect on season against Johnstown

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. - The Walleye kept their record perfect against Johnstown this season, winning 5-2 to improve their record to 29-23-1-3. Toledo is 6-0-0-0 against the Chiefs.

Toledo collected the game's first goal at 11:37 while on the power play. Forward Evan Rankin skated to the side of the net and slid a pass to Maxime Tanguay, whose one-timer beat John Murray for a 1-0 lead. Sal Peralta, acquired from Ontario last weekend also assisted on Toledo's first goal.

In the second period, Toledo would extend its lead to 2-0 at 3:18 as Peralta scored his first goal with the Walleye. Maxime Tanguay fed a pass to Peralta in the left circle and Sal one-timed it past Murray.

The lead was extended to 3-0 at 5:34 when Tanguay collected his second goal of the game and 19th of the season.

This time it was JC Sawyer who found Tanguay for a one-timer from the left circle for the goal after Rankin collected a steal at center ice to start the breakout.

The Walleye return home tonight when they take on the Gwinnett Gladiators at

7 at the Lucas County Arena.
