In the first period, Chicago would collect a 1-0 lead just 3:23 in. Toledo would tie the game at 4:08 of the first when Derek Brochu tipped a shot in. Martin beat Chicago goaltender Allen York for his 17th goal of the year.

“We knew they would come out with some fire tonight,” said Head Coach Nick Vitucci. “I thought we did a great job withstanding that first rush. We gave ourselves a chance in the third.”

Neither team would score in the third period and overtime. In the shootout, Alec Richards stopped three of five shooters. Toledo would get goals from Andrej Nestrasil, Joey Martin and Todd Griffith in the shootout.
