Trevor Parkes scored three goals as the Toledo Walleye defeated Evansville 7-1 tonight at the Huntington Center.
Parkes re-directed Byron Froese's shot from the point past Evansville goalie Paul Karpowich at 8:57 of the first period to tie the game at 1-1, then scored two goals in a four-minute stretch in the second period.
Karpowich made 30 saves, while Jordan Pearce made 20 saves for Toledo, who scored six unanswered goals.
Froese, Willie Coetzee, Nino Musitelli and Travis Novak also scored for the Walleye. Daniel Tetrault scored for Evansville.
The Walleye host Trenton at 5:05 p.m. Sunday at the Huntington Center.
