Forward Aaron Bogosian has been acquired by the Toledo Walleye from the Florida Everblades in exchange for forward Pat Knowlton. This move also completes a previous deal in which Toledo traded defenseman Olivier Dame-Malka to Florida for future considerations on January 29.
In a separate deal, the Walleye traded defenseman Ben Woodley to the Greenville Road Warriors. Defenseman Matthew Walters has agreed to terms with the Walleye.
Bogosian comes to Toledo after appearing in 54 games this year with the Florida Everblades. The Massena, N.Y., native has 11 goals, 15 assists and 146 penalty minutes with the Everblades and is tied for the ECHL league lead with 4 shorthanded goals. The older brother of current NHL defenseman Winnipeg's Zach Bogosian has skated in 61 games over a year plus in the AHL with Springfield scoring 4 goals with 3 assists. Prior to his professional career, the 26-year old spent four seasons at St. Lawrence University collecting 79 points (33g, 46a).
Walters joins the Walleye following the completion of his college career at the University of Toronto. The Winnipeg, Manitoba native led the Blues this season with 116 penalty minutes in 28 games this past season. Over his college career, the 25-year-old collected 9 goals and 34 assists.
Knowlton scored 11 points (2g, 9a) in 22 games with the Walleye. Woodley appeared in eight games with Toledo, collecting no points and 16 penalty minutes.
