t Southside American Legion Post 531 in conjuction with Commodore Perry VFW Post 3338 will host a spaghetti dinner for Kim Sue (Foster) Georgia, who has lung cancer and has no medical insurance. •Harbor House's Car Show at the Hilton, 3100 Glendale Ave. Oct. 14 noon to 3 p.m. in the south parking lot, located on the former MUO campus. t Step Out to Fight Diabetes, a fund-raiser sponsored by the American Diabetes Association, Oct. 20. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and the walk begins at

10 a.m. at Toledo Botanical Garden, 5403 Elmer Drive. Participants can choose from one-mile or two-mile routes. Meetings

•Newborns in Need, Toledo's local chapter will meet from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 13 for its monthly workday at Calvary Assembly of God, 5025 Glendale Ave. The organization is a non-profit charity that donates items to any facility that provides for the needs of premature and new born babies that are sick or in crisis. Teachers are on hand to teach volunteers how to quilt, knit, crochet, and sew. Supplies are provided. Information: 419-865-4470.

t The Roger Bresnahan/Mud Hens Chapter of the Society for American Baseball Research (SABR) will meet at 4 p.m. Oct. 20 at Packo's at the Park, Washington and St. Clair streets. The meeting will begin with baseball research presentations by local members and then the group will watch the American and National League playoff games being played that night. •S.N.i.P. - Spaying and Neutering Prevention program offers reduced fee vouchers to low income and multiple pet owner families to help defray the costs of spaying or neutering their dogs and cats.
