Vehicular traffic into a residential Ottawa Hills neighborhood will be restricted on Halloween night as a safety measure, said Marc Thompson, village administrator.
He said the area bounded roughly by Kenwood Boulevard on the north, Secor Road on the east, Indian Road on the south, and the area of the schools on the west is visited by a large number of children each Halloween, "and the residents enjoy them," he said.
Drivers will be directed to the elementary school parking lot and nearby parking areas where drivers can park and then escort their children into the residential neighborhood.
Trick or treating will be from 6 to 8 p.m.
