BRIGHTENING THEIR DAY AT THE SYLVANIA SENIOR CENTER

Members of the Timberstone E-Wolves brightened the day for some residents at the Sylvania Senior Center - literally. The team of seventh-graders made a presentation about energy; from left, Jordan Truitt, Rachel Loch, Michelle Li, Lizzi Sares, Orlando Reyes-Cairo, a participant at the center on the stationary bike, and Jillian Miksanek, who explains how the student-built device generates power to light the bulbs in the background. The team is focusing on energy conservation awareness. It takes more pedal power to light up the incandescent bulbs, compared to the more-efficient fluorescent bulbs.
