Metamora youth's Evergreen library video part of contest

METAMORA - Evergreen Community Library has a submission for the nationwide StoryTubes Contest, featuring library patron and third-grade student Adam Newell, of Metamora, who was videotaped by the library telling about his favorite picture storybook, Skippyjon Jones in Mummy Trouble by Judy Schachner.

The video was entered into the Hair Raising Tales category of the contest. Adam could win $500 in free books and $1,000 for books for a school or library of his choice.

"His chances of winning are very good," says Martie Yunker, children's librarian, "as there are only 12 states to compete with."

Voting for the video on the StoryTubes Web site begins May 5 and lasts until May 11.

Adam's video, titled "Skippyjon Jones in Mummy Trouble," is one of 20 reviewed and is the first one on the Web page in his category.

To vote for the video, click on the link to the StoryTubes Web site between May 5 and 11 at www.storytubes.info.
