A juried exhibition of the best high school artwork from northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan includes work done by eight students from Central Catholic High School.

The Focus 2008 art show will run from Tuesday through Nov. 16 at the University of Toledo's Center for the Visual Arts Gallery.

More than 250 works from 27 schools will be featured.

The Central Catholic art students are Alanna Crumley, Scott Deca (two pieces), Erin Iiams, Madeline Jackson, Claire McDonald, George Pipoly (two pieces), Renee Sarra, and Meg Schneider.

Their artwork is from 2007; the judging for the show was in May.

An artists' reception and a departmental open house will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Nov. 16 at the gallery.

In addition, an awards ceremony will take place on the same day from 1:45 to 2:30 p.m. in the Toledo Museum of Art's Glass Pavilion.

The exhibit is free and open to the public.
