The village of Delta, surrounded by farm country, will for the first time hold a weekly farmers' market in the Memorial Hall parking lot on Wood Street north of Main Street.
The farmers' market will be open from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesdays, May 11 through Oct. 26.
"We thought this was a way to get activity on a local level" into the downtown business district, said Derek K. Allen, village administrator.
The village is recruiting vendors, especially farmers and gardeners with vegetables, fruit, nursery plants, and flowers to sell.
Also welcome will be those with eggs, honey, and other agricultural products to sell, plus craft makers whose handiwork is unique.
"We think it's going to be a good fit," Mr. Allen said. "We would like to see a good turnout."
Those interested in being a vendor may call Delta village offices at 419-822-3190.
