Sylvania

•Sylvania Arts and Crafts Festival registration through today. Artist's booth, $135. The festival is Sept. 12 at Lourdes College, 6832 Convent Blvd. 419-882-2135.

•About $60 worth of fresh and frozen food can be purchased by anyone in need for $30 through Angel Food Ministries at King of Glory Lutheran Church, 6517 Brint Rd., Sylvania. West Toledo

Toledo

•Maumee Valley Heritage Corridor has scheduled narrated history and architectural tours aboard the Sandpiper boat on the Maumee River through September. The cruises travel upstream from downtown Toledo and visit such highlights as the SS Willis Boyer freighter, the grain elevators, the casino location, estate homes in Eagle Point Colony, and one of the nation's busiest railroad bridges. Historian Fred Folger will narrate the tours. Dates for the two-hour cruises are 7:30 p.m. Aug. 9; 1 p.m. Sept. 5, and 1 p.m. Sept. 19. The cost is $18 per person, or $15 for members of any historical organization in the Maumee Valley. For reservations, call the Sandpiper at 419-537-1212.

•Levis Square Concert Series: noon-1:30 p.m., Levis Square, Madison Avenue and North St. Clair Street downtown: Tomorrow: Johnny Rodriguez light rock. Aug. 19: The Swamp Kings blues-rock. Aug. 26: Glass City Steel steel drum-island music.

•4th Annual Josh Project Save a Life; learn to swim summer fund-raiser, noon-5 p.m. Saturday, 640 Indiana Ave. Fun, food, homemade ice cream and music.

•Kingston Healthcare will host a special USO dance, 7:30 to 11 p.m., Centennial Terrace, 5773 Centennial Rd. Big Band Era with the Johnny Knorr Orchestra. Complimentary dessert provided by Kingston, and a full cash bar and concessions will be available. Cost: $5 per person.

Paddle down the Huron back to the campground. Two-hour trips begin at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturdays and 9 a.m. only on Sundays, $15 per canoe. Must register five days in advance.
