Seneca auction to aid N.Y.C. rescue workers

TIFFIN - Tiffin resident Marian Sherwood and several local groups and businesses are seeking auction items to help with an upcoming benefit called Seneca County Cares.

The event, which starts at 7 p.m. Nov. 10 at the Tiffin Eagles building, is being held to benefit New York City rescue workers who aided in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. Tickets for $5 are available at the door.

People who wish to donate auction items are asked to call Tiffin University's office of public affairs.

The university already has donated a 4-year scholarship for the event. There will be a $15,000 minimum opening bid for that item, university officials said.
