Fifth Third Bank officials said yesterday it will close its bank branch in the Nicholas Building, 606 Madison Ave., at 5 tonight, because of Toledo Edison's plans to cut power to the building at noon tomorrow.
The building's owner, Ergur Private Equity Group of San Francisco, remains unable to pay its past-due utility bills.
Fifth Third spokesman Karen Fraker said the bank will refer customers temporarily to its closest location, Fifth Third Center at One SeaGate, 550 North Summit St., while focusing on another location closer to the Nicholas site.
