Barbara Owens has been named vice president and chief communications officer at Owens Illinois Inc., Perrysburg. She previously served as a Chicago consultant to the company.

Brett Himes has been promoted to chief executive officer of Heartland Information Services, Toledo. He replaces Jerry Cirino, who accepted another position with Heartland's parent company.

Aaron Thrush has received the Ohio Society of Professional Engineers' young engineer of the year award. He is a transportation engineer at Mannik & Smith Group Inc., Maumee.

Mary Helge has been named general manager of Hampton Inn & Suites in Perrysburg.

Douglas Saul is the new board chairman of the Ohio Gas Association. He is vice president of operations for Ohio Gas. Co. in Bryan.

The Collaborative Inc., Toledo, won an honor award from the American Institute of Architects Ohio for its work on the Dorothy Uber Bryan Art Gallery at Bowling Green State University.

Pamela Rose Auction Company LLC, Maumee, won three first-place awards for promotions and marketing materials in a recent competition sponsored by the Ohio Association of Realtors.
