Unemployment in Monroe and Lenawee counties in Michigan rose in November, but it fell in Hillsdale County, figures released Tuesday show.
The jobless rate in Monroe County climbed to 14.4 percent from 13.6 percent in October and in Lenawee County went to 15.7 percent from 15.4 percent, according to the Michigan Department of Energy, Labor, and Economic Growth. The Hillsdale County rate declined to 16.6 percent from 17.2 percent.
The rates in all 83 Michigan counties were higher two months ago than in the same month a year earlier. The statewide rate in November was 14.7 percent, down from 15.1 percent in October but higher than a year earlier.
