Toledo area foreclosure, delinquency rates up in January
Foreclosure rates and mortgage-payment delinquency rates in metro Toledo climbed again in January, a new report shows.
The rate of home loans in foreclosure locally rose to 3.19 percent in January, up from 2.35 percent for the same month a year earlier, according to a study released yesterday by First American CoreLogic, a California real-estate data tracking firm.
The rate, which has risen in all but two months of the past year, is the same as the national rate but higher than Ohio's 3.02 percent level, CoreLogic said.
However, Toledo's rate of mortgages with payments at least 90 days late climbed to 8 percent in January but is lower than the national rate of 8.66 percent, the study found. Ohio's rate was 7.58 percent. The local rate has risen in all but one month of the past year, CoreLogic said.
