Jobless rates dropped in May in three southeastern Michigan counties as well as in most counties in the state.
The rates, announced Thursday, dropped in Monroe County to 12.7 percent in May from 13.4 percent in April; in Lenawee County to 15 percent from 15.3 percent, and in Hillsdale County to 15.5 percent from 16.2 percent, according to the Michigan Department of Energy, Labor & Economic Growth.
The statewide rate, announced last week, slipped to 13.6 percent.
