State suspends license of local grain elevators


ARCHBOLD, Ohio — The Ohio Department of Agriculture has suspended the grain license of the Archbold Elevator Inc. in Archbold as well at as a branch in Wauseon and a storage bin in Elmira, Ohio.

After an inspection the week of April 5, department examiners determined that Archbold Elevator held liabilities significantly higher than its available assets and was short at least 50,000 bushels of corn.

Farmers who are owed money for grain deposits with Archbold Elevator should call the department Grain Warehouse Section at 800-282-1955 or at 614-728-6410.
