Penn National switches plans for race tracks
DAYTON -- Penn National Gaming Inc. has changed its mind on where it wants to relocate Toledo's Raceway Park harness racing facility.
Originally, it planned to move Raceway Park to a suburb of Youngstown and Columbus' Beulah Park thoroughbred track to Dayton. In a financial statement this week, Penn said it wants to move the harness racing track to Dayton and the thoroughbred track to the Youngstown area.
Penn wants to relocate the racetracks to prevent competing with casinos under construction in Columbus and Toledo.
The relocations are subject to approval of the Ohio Racing Commission.
