FINDLAY -- Cooper Tire & Rubber Co.'s third quarter sales were up 4 percent from last year to an all-time record of $1.1 billion, the company reported this morning.
Cooper's net profit in the quarter was $74 million, or $1.17 per share. Last year, Cooper reported net income of $17 million, or 27 cents per share, on sales of $1.05 billion.
The company said global volume grew by 5 percent. Cooper was also helped by lower raw material costs in the quarter.
Cooper's shares were up more than 7 percent in early trading.
