Trojans, Generals gain victories

Waite tops Whitmer; Maumee beats Scott

Division I

Findlay 46, Springfield 42

TONTOGANY -- The Trojans took over in the second half after trailing 27-26 at the break and went on to win Wednesday night in a Division I girls basketball sectional game.

Findlay (11-10) was led with 14 points from Christina McQueen and 11 from Nicole Muehl.

Natalie Yoder had 12 in the loss for the Blue Devils (4-15).

Anthony Wayne 59, Lima Senior 44

TONTOGANY -- Aisha Tyrie pumped in a game-high 27 points to lead the Generals (13-8)).

Jasmine Bonivel added 11 while Raechel McKay had 10.

Indiya Benjamin scored 26 in the loss for the Spartans (13-8), while Airika Callahan had 12.

Notre Dame 71, Clay 15

At Central Catholic, Cat Wells scored 14 points, Ashley Kynard 13, Kaayla McIntyre 12 and Michelle Holmes 11 for Notre Dame (17-4).

Clay ends it season at 1-20.

Waite 48, Whitmer 40

At Clay, Kre'Ana Henry and Latesha Craig each scored 11 for the Indians (11-10), who led 17-5 after one quarter.

Allie Missler topped the Panthers (11-10) with 13 points.


Division II

Maumee 57, Scott 40

At Bowsher, Lindsay Sayre scored 17 points to pace the Panthers (7-14). Kaylan Thomasson added 11.

Lora Jefferson led the Bulldogs (2-16) with 15.


Division III

Archbold 77, Liberty Center 29

DEFIANCE -- The Blue Streaks (21-0) were led by Chelsea Goebel with 16 points. Darian Oberlin added 14 and Jesse Fidler 10.

The Tigers (2-19) got 10 points from Andrea Weirauch.

Lakota 43, Gibsonburg 20

PEMBERVILLE -- Stephanie Miller scored 11 points as the Raiders took control early with an 11-2 first-quarter edge.

The Golden Bears finish 4-17.

Genoa 50, Northwood 31

PEMBERVILLE -- Hunter Giles led the Comets (9-12) with 16 points.

Anna Raymond led the Rangers (11-9) with 12.

Elmwood 50, Swanton, 35

BOWLING GREEN -- Elmwood's Sierra Beckford poured in 21 points and Brittany Gross, 21, as the Royals (13-8) cruised.

Tracy Kashmar paced the Bulldogs (5-16) with seven points.

Otsego 59, Van Buren 53

BOWLING GREEN -- Otsego (12-9) got 19 points from Hannah Greulich and 11 from the Kylee Bernthisel.

Van Buren was led by Kristen Tropf's 26 points.
