Older Adults Improve Their Health With the Healthy U Program
The Area Office on Aging's six-week Healthy U Program workshop has been proven to help older adults improve their health in the following ways:
In creasing the self-reported health statusIncreasing energy
Decreasing fatigue, and decreasing the number of days in the hospital.
Participants learn relaxation techniques, how to exercise appropriately, how to cope with frustrations, fatigue and pain, how to manage symptoms, how to eat well, how to use medications appropriately, how to communicate effectively with family, friends and health professionals, how to set weekly goals and how to effectively problem-solve.
The upcoming workshops will be held at the following locations, dates and times:
Every Thursday from June 4 – July 9
