Area Office on Aging Assists Older Adults With Digital TV Transition

The Area Office on Aging is helping older adults prepare for the June 12, 2009 Digital TV Transition by offering assistance with several aspects of the transition. To ensure local older adults will be able to receive television stations on their home television sets after June 12, 2009, the Area Office on Aging will assist older adults with the following activities in preparation for the digital transition:

• Educate vulnerable older adults – particularly those who are minority, low income, rural, homebound, or have limited English proficiency – on the DTV conversion.
• Conduct assessments to determine the need for DTV converter box.
• Provide assistance in applying for the Converter Box Coupons.

For assistance with any of these activities, please contact the Area Office on Aging at 800-472-7277 or visit www.areaofficeonaging.com
