Over the last year, urban affairs reporter Clyde Hughes has examined the issues and the growth of the local Hispanic community for this three-day series.
He has worked as a staff writer and sports reporter at The Blade since November, 1989. Mr. Hughes founded the Northwest Ohio Black Media Association in 1990, the local affiliate of the National Association of Black Journalists.
In April, Mr. Hughes completed a Reporting on Race Relations fellowship at the Poynter Institute in St. Petersburg, Fla.
Mr. Hughes is a Texas native and a graduate of Lamar University in Beaumont, Tex.
