Sylvania Twp. police issue 85 tickets during 'blitz'

Sylvania Township police issued 85 tickets, most of them for speeding, during their enforcement "blitz" on West Central Avenue over the Thanksgiving weekend.

The blitz extended from 3 p.m. Nov. 22 to 7 p.m. Sunday and focused on the four-mile stretch of West Central between Reynolds and Centennial roads. Officers issued 72 speeding tickets, 5 citations for seat-belt violations, and 8 for various other violations and made one arrest for driving under the influence.
