Toledo Hospital plans to begin construction on a new emergency center in mid-February.
The emergency center, expected to be completed in mid-2002, will be on the west side of the hospital, with the main entrance facing Midwood Avenue. The current emergency room is on the east side of the hospital.
The new center will have 44,000 square feet, which more than doubles the size of the old emergency room. It is expected to cost $20 million to $30 million.
