Toddler puts car in gear, injures Good Samaritan

MONTPELIER -- A Good Samaritan received minor injuries Thursday night when he was dragged by a slow-moving car that was put in gear accidentally by a 2-year-old child.

Elvis Kersey, 21, of Marrero, La., was scraped up while he tried to help a local woman who was having car trouble. Sara Bloomer, 26, of Wauseon, was stopped at Hutch's Kerrie Out on State Rt., just off the Ohio Turnpike at 10:30 p.m..

Mr. Kersey was looking under the hood of the running car when police say the young child put the car into gear. He was dragged about eight feet before the car came to a stop.
