District to test hydrants in part of Wood County
The Northwestern Water and Sewer District will be flushing and testing fire hydrants beginning Sept. 25 through Oct. 26 on all hydrants east of Perrysburg to I-280 in Lake Township.
The area includes Ampoint Industrial Park, Owens Community College, Walbridge, Moline, and subdivisions near Belmont Country Club and The Hamlet.
Testing, which will be performed between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, could result in rusty water for some residents. Residents are encouraged to run tap water prior to using it for laundry. If rust appears on clothing, rust-removal chemicals are available through the district's maintenance department on Woodville Road or at its office on the third floor of the County Office Building.
