Fostoria police arrest driver after chase in Wood County

FOSTORIA - Police arrested a motorist yesterday after a local officer chased the man's car from the city into Wood County.

Jerry Duryea, 40, whose address was not available, was charged with felony fleeing and eluding.

Fostoria Officer Clayton Moore started chasing Mr. Duryea's car at 1:30 a.m. when he allegedly spotted it traveling 64 mph in a 25 mph zone. At one point, Mr. Duryea accelerated to 80 mph and hit a parked car, authorities said.

He surrendered without incident on Cygnet Road after one of his car's front tires blew up.
