Black media group to honor Ford, Kaptur

Mayor Jack Ford and U.S. Rep. Marcy Kaptur (D., Toledo) will be among those honored at the Northwest Ohio Black Media Association's ninth annual Impact Newsmaker Awards program at 6:30 p.m. tomorrow at The Roost at Fifth Third Field.

Also being recognized is Rose Russell, associate editor and columnist at The Blade, who will be presented with a lifetime achievement award. Ms. Russell, who has worked 25 years at The Blade and does a column focusing on minority issues, is being honored by the National Association of Black Journalists for her writing.
