2 Oak Harbor teen drivers hurt in crash, 1 seriously

OAK HARBOR - Two Oak Harbor teenagers were injured Monday when their cars collided on Salem-Carroll Road near here.

Dustin Macko, 16, was taken to Toledo Hospital with serious injuries, but his condition was not available yesterday. The second driver, Derek Gerber, 18, was treated in Magruder Hospital.

The Ohio Highway Patrol in Sandusky said both drivers were westbound on Salem-Carroll Road at 3:50 p.m. when Mr. Gerber attempted to turn left onto Behlman Road. The collision occurred when Dustin drove into the eastbound lane to pass the Gerber vehicle. Dustin was charged with improper passing.
