Cliff Bauer of Defiance was elected judge advocate. He also is a Vietnam veteran.

The new department commander is George Durinka of Parma. Mr. Durinka, a civil-engineering draftsman and marital arts instructor, will assume office today. He has served in VFW offices for 35 years.
