The Fourth Annual Wabash Cannonball/Matt Manos Memorial Scholarship Fund 5K Run/Walk will be held Aug. 24 beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the village of Whitehouse.
Registration and packet pickup is set from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 23 at the Whitehouse Municipal Building, 6655 Providence Street. On race day, registration will begin at 5 p.m. at the basketball courts in Village Park. Registration fee is $15. T-shirts are guaranteed to the first 250 entrants.
The run/walk course starts on Indianapolis Street and proceeds along State Rt. 64 to the Wabash Cannonball Trail. Runners and walkers will proceed along the trail and return on the trail to the finish line.
Last year there were 258 runners/walkers, said Randy Bukas, who helps to organize the annual event.
Die-cast medals will be given to the top five runners in each age group as well as trophies to the top three overall finishers.
Food and drinks will be provided to participants after the race.
