His wife, Bonnie Devlin, was listed in fair condition at St. Vincent Mercy last night.

Mrs. Devlin, 86, met police at the door of their home at the West Elm Villas at about 9:45 p.m. Thursday. She told police her husband had shot her twice in the head with a 22-caliber revolver. When police went inside the house, they found Mr. Devlin, who had shot himself in the head.
