Fremont man still critical after collision with train

CLYDE, Ohio — A Fremont man remained in critical condition yesterday in a Toledo hospital after his car collided with a train at a crossing southeast of Clyde in Sandusky County.

Benjamin Hahn, 40, was taken to Medical College of Ohio Hospitals by helicopter after the crash, which occurred at 3:37 p.m. Saturday. According to the Fremont post of the Ohio Highway Patrol, Mr. Hahn was southbound on County Road 262 in York Township when he failed to yield for a westbound Norfolk Southern train.

The intersection is marked by a crossbuck, the highway patrol said. The accident remained under investigation yesterday.
