Numerous minor building code violations were found yesterday during an inspection of the XO club in Maumee.
A correction notice about the deficiencies will be sent to Halo Ventures, a Las Vegas firm doing business as XO. Another building inspection is scheduled to be conducted Monday, said Bruce Wholf, Maumee's building and zoning inspector.
Mr. Wholf said that among the violations were minor electrical problems and deficiencies in emergency and exit lights.
On Monday, a judge ordered the city to either issue or deny the club, at Dussel Drive and Holland Road, an occupancy permit. No permit will be issued unless the club complies with the city's sexually oriented business ordinance enacted in June, according to city officials.
XO, shut down by city police Nov. 22 after it opened without an occupancy permit, is challenging the constitutionality of the ordinance that restricts sexually oriented businesses to areas zoned for heavy industry. The club is in a commercial district.
