Property at 1600 North Main St. owned by Industrial Dimensions, Inc., meets environmental standards for industrial or commercial use. The land was formerly used as a foundry and had in the past shown the presence of hazardous chemicals on the southeastern portion of the land.
The cleanup, which involved the removal and disposal of about 187 tons of soil, was done through the EPA's Voluntary Action Program that gives landowners the opportunity to clean up property voluntarily. In exchange, the agency agrees to take no further action against the property owner.
