The lighthouse society is receiving the Chief's Award from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources' division of parks and recreation.
The award, the highest honor from the division, recognizes the historical society for its continuing support of the 181-year-old lighthouse.
Dan West, chief of the parks and recreation division, will present the award to society members at 10 a.m. The lighthouse, a landmark on the Marblehead peninsula, has been operated by the ODNR since 1998.
