Fremont man who had explosive devices jailed
WOODVILLE — A 19-year-old Fremont man was in the Sandusky County jail last night after a pair of explosive devices was found in the vehicle he was driving, authorities said.
Woodville police stopped a car driven by Brian Simms yesterday at 1:07 a.m. at State Rts. 105 and 582 after he appeared to be driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While searching Mr. Simms' vehicle, officers found the explosive devices in the trunk, police said. Members of the Toledo Bomb Squad disarmed the devices, which police did not identify.
Mr. Simms was charged with DWI. Other charges are pending upon the completion of an investigation directed by the state fire marshal's office and Woodville police.
