Teen biker strikes car, is critically hurt
DEFIANCE - A Defiance teenager was critically injured yesterday when she lost control of her dirt bike and drove from a yard onto State Rt. 15, where she struck a car.
Kristen Beatty, 15, was flown to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, where she was in critical condition last night.
The Defiance post of the Ohio Highway Patrol said Miss Beatty was westbound in the yard about 2:15 p.m. when she struck a ditch and drove onto Route 15, southeast of Blosser Road. Her bike hit the front passenger door of the northwest-bound car, driven by Bonnie Huber, 76, of Bryan.
Miss Beatty was thrown from the motorbike and landed in the middle of the road, while the car drove off the left side of the road. Ms. Huber and three passengers - Vaynard Fisher, 56; Cameo Fisher, 56, and Jason Fisher, 29, all of Bryan - were treated at the scene.
