Judge denies request to expunge court records

The records of Kimberly Anderson, 38, who was acquitted in Defiance following a trial by jury, will remain open, Auglaize County Common Pleas Judge Fred Pepple ruled Friday. The opinion was filed yesterday in Defiance County, where the trial was held.

Ms. Anderson was charged with aggravated murder, murder, and voluntary murder in the shooting death of Brent Anderson, 37, who was an attorney in Celina. Her case had been moved to Defiance from her hometown.

Ms. Anderson admitted she shot her husband to death. During her trial, Ms. Anderson took the stand and testified that the shooting was a matter of self-defense.
