Bloomville driver hurt when vehicle hits pole

FINDLAY — A Bloomville man was injured when he drove off the road and struck a utility pole yesterday, the Hancock County sheriff's department reported.

Thomas Brookes, 37, was eastbound on U.S. 224 about 11 a.m. when he drove off the road and struck a Hancock-Wood Electric power pole. The car then slid sideways and struck a support pole for the netting at the Shady Grove Golf Course.

Mr. Brookes was taken to Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center. His condition was unavailable.
