The Lucas County Plan Commission voted unanimously yesterday to recommend a zoning change from agricultural to general commercial for land on Airport Highway, east of Wilkins Road.
The two parcels — 12360 and 12440 Airport Highway in Swanton Township — are west of Toledo Express Airport.
The plan commission's recommendation will go to Swanton Township's zoning board. If that board approves the change, the issue will be considered by the Swanton Township trustees.
Michael Thiel, an associate planner for the plan commission, said no specific use for the property was brought forward. He said some of the other parcels around the site also are zoned commercial.
The two parcels cover about 14 acres. The zoning change will apply to a depth of 660 feet of those parcels.
