HILLSDALE — A 16-year-old Hillsdale County girl was in critical condition yesterday in a Jackson hospital where she was being treated for alcohol poisoning.
State troopers say the teen was one of about 14 young people who attended a party Friday night and early Saturday morning in the Lake Le Ann area in northeast Hillsdale County.
Troopers were called to Foote Hospital by emergency room doctors. State troopers and Hillsdale County sheriff's deputies then went to the home, where they broke up the party and issued citations for underage possession of alcohol.
One adult was present, troopers said, although no further citations would be issued until the investigation closes, the post said.
No names have been released, and the girl's blood-alcohol level was not disclosed.
