Antwerp man loses control of truck, dies

ANTWERP, Ohio — A 42-year-old Antwerp man died in a one-vehicle accident northwest of Antwerp in Paulding County late Saturday, the county sheriff's department said.

Richard Schroeder, Jr., was pronounced dead at the scene Saturday, a sheriff's department spokesman said. The spokesman said Mr. Schroeder was southbound on Township Road 19 in a pickup truck about 8:40 p.m. when the truck went off the left side of the road.

The spokesman said Mr. Schroeder apparently overcorrected, causing the vehicle to cross to the east side, where it hit several trees and landed in a ditch near County Road 204.
