IDA, Mich. — An 82-year-old Ida man died and a 22-year-old man remained in critical condition after a two-vehicle accident on Rauch Road and Lewis Avenue in Monroe County, at the Bedford and Ida township line, Saturday morning.
Michigan State Police said Julius Fabian of Ida Township was traveling east in a pickup about 10:46 a.m. when he apparently ran a stop sign at the Lewis intersection.
Mr. Fabian's pickup collided with a passenger car driven by the 22-year-old man, whom police declined to identify yesterday.
Both Mr. Fabian and the 22-year-old man were taken by helicopter to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo, where Mr. Fabian was pronounced dead, police said.
